\u201cFrom cornflower to corn poppy: Thanks to Sinsoma\u2019s DNA-based honey pollen analysis, we were able to reveal the impressive plant diversity behind the hotel\u2019s own honey produced at ARCOTEL Kaiserwasser in Vienna. The results clearly demonstrate the richness of urban biodiversity in the area surrounding the hotel in Austria\u2019s capital: 105 different plant taxa and 95 plant species were identified, including cornflower, ribwort plantain, wild rose, and various linden species. The harvested honey is served to guests at the breakfast buffet, making nature and biodiversity in an urban environment directly tangible.\u201d<\/p>

Analyzing Dates<\/h2><\/div>

A DNA honey origin analysis is a complex, multi-stage analytical process. To ensure we can still offer this service at an attractive price, we process the samples using what is known as the \u2018bus system<\/span>\u2019. This means that several samples are analysed together. The analysis only begins once enough samples have been received and the \u2018bus\u2019 is full.<\/p>

Our analysis periods are therefore based on the honey year. The analyses take place at the following times:<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Spring analysis:<\/span><\/span>
Samples received up to and including: 28 May
Results: First week of July<\/p>

Summer analysis I:<\/span><\/span>
Samples received up to and including: 30 June
Results: First week of August<\/p>

Summer analysis II: <\/span><\/span>
Samples received up to and including: 30 July
Results: First week of September<\/p>

Late Summer Analysis:<\/span><\/span>
Samples received up to and including: 30 September
