Making underwater biodiversity visible
Which fish species actually live in a body of water? Our DNA biodiversity test provides the answers – simply, accurately and without disturbing the habitat.
Using a water sample, we analyse the environmental DNA (eDNA) present in the water body and thus determine the range of fish species present – without having to catch, stress or observe any fish.
The highly sensitive diagnostic PCR test detects both common and hard-to-detect species and can also reliably identify endangered and invasive fish species.
You will receive a detailed overview of the fish species detected, providing valuable insights into the biodiversity of your water body. The results provide a sound basis for planning targeted measures to promote biodiversity, manage water bodies or protect sensitive populations.
The DNA test is not only suitable for conducting an initial survey but is also ideal for continuously monitoring the success of measures already implemented. This makes biodiversity measurable and allows developments to be objectively tracked.
We are also happy to provide advice on any questions you may have regarding fish diversity and measures to promote biodiversity.
